The Moray West Offshore Wind Farm project marked a significant milestone for the Port of Cromarty Firth. As part of this project, the Port was selected for the marshalling of 62 wind turbine monopile substructures, some weighing nearly 2,000 tonnes.

Our expanded Quay West facility, with its 90,000sqm of laydown area and deepwater quays, was key to the efficient handling and storage of these components. The project involved close collaboration with Ocean Winds and utilised advanced transport technology to offload and assemble the monopiles before their installation in the Moray Firth. This project further solidified our reputation as a key logistics hub for Scotland’s offshore wind industry, supporting the nation’s drive towards renewable energy.
