Port of Cromarty Firth Supports Invergordon Social Club Kids Christmas Party
The Port of Cromarty Firth (POCF) has helped bring festive cheer to local families by supporting the Invergordon Social Club Kids Christmas Party, which took place on Sunday and welcomed around 100 local children.
POCF contributed £200 towards the event, helping to fund Christmas decorations, party gift bags, and snacks. The Christmas Disco featured a full programme of activities, including face painting, traditional party games, dancing, and a much anticipated visit from Santa, delighting children and families.
The event was organised by Suzie Legge, who drew inspiration from her own childhood memories of the social club’s annual children’s Christmas parties, which were once a highlight of the festive calendar in Invergordon.
With support from local businesses, Invergordon Distillery, and the Invergordon Social Club, the party successfully recreated a traditional “old school” Christmas celebration, complete with festive decorations and a present for every child. Organisers hope the success of this year’s event will see it become a regular annual fixture for the community.
Suzie Legge, organiser of the event, said: “It was amazing to see so many happy faces and to feel the excitement in the room. This party was inspired by the Christmas events I remember as a child, and with the help of the social club, local businesses, and the Port of Cromarty Firth, we were able to bring that magic back. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special day.”

The Port of Cromarty Firth continues to support community led initiatives that strengthen local connections and create positive experiences for people across the region.
The Community Sponsorship Programme aspires to improve, safeguard and develop Cromarty Firth communities, for the benefit of local people.
Community projects, schools or local charities based in one of the nine communities that border the Cromarty Firth are welcome to apply for support. They can do so by submitting an application form stating the project’s objectives, aspirations and the benefits to the community, along with a letter/email of support from their local Community Council.
Projects must be collaborative and meet one of four eligibility criteria:
- Skills development, employability or job creation,
- Vessel crew or passenger support,
- Environmental protection or enhancement,
- Events or projects which encourage inter-community collaboration.
